I got this audio clip from Theremin after I had finished cutting together the 100th episode. Since it didn’t make it into the show I thought I’d post it on the site instead. Here it is.
And to answer his question I did consider doing a clip show as part of the 100th episode. However not only did it mean that I would have had to spend another week editing, I would have had to listen to almost the entire back catalogue to pick the clips. I think I’ll post my top 10 favorite episodes in a later post sometime this week instead.
Those are really the only two words I have right now. I can’t believe we got here. Although I had nothing but the highest hopes for this podcast, never did I think it would ever get to 100 episodes. “Sure,” I thought, “It’d be nice to get to 100 episodes. But hey that’s a long way away.” Now we’re here and I can’t believe it.
Here it is. After two weeks of planning, recording, and TONS of editing, the 100th episode is here for your listening pleasure.
This really kicked my butt to make. This episode is LONG. I’ll probably go into the details of how I pulled it off in a later post. I basically made a wish list for everything I wanted for this episode and I got almost everything. Not only did we make a regular episode of the show, but we also had a massive retrospective of the podcast up until this point. I’m really happy how it turned out. I was a little uncomfortable with how long it turned out, but it’s 2 full hours of content.
I gotta say I really teared up at the end of editing this one. In fact I’m tearing up right now typing this. It really hit me all at once what a road this has been. There’s been some really BAD times. There’s been some mind bendingly AMAZING times. There’s a quote from Oscar Wilde saying, “Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes” I think this sums up our entire show as a whole. We’ve stumbled a lot. Looking back there have been too many bad decisions to count. But given the chance to do it all again I’d do it exactly the same way. I’ve made this show with so many people and the experiences I’ve had with them has been immeasurable. The podcast has become such a massive part of my life that I’m not sure what I’d do without it (probably have a girlfriend come to think of it).
I know we say it a lot in the episode, but thank you all so much for listening and participating. If you all left en masse I’d probably stop making the show. After getting so much feedback and love from you guys I don’t know if I could make the show without you guys. If we’re the shows engine, you guys are the gasoline.
I hope you like the episode. I’m very tired now so I’m going to bed.
(raises glass) Here’s to 100 more! Feel free to party in the comments section.
Although it’s not really our birthday, we definitely get the sentiment. This was made using flipnote studio on the DSi (which is one of my favorite apps for the handheld). This kinda of stuff takes HOURS.
I know I’m repeating this like I get a nickle each time I say it, but our 100th episode is going out this Friday. We really want the listeners be a big part of the the episode, and so far we have gotten zero audio clips.
Send us your audio clips! Every week we work our hardest to make a quality show for you guys and we’ve never asked for any money in return. Think of this as your way of paying us back for all those hours of enjoyment. Those of you who called into the call in segment are exempt from this guilt trip.
Try and keep your clips to around a minute or two. You can tell us your experiences with the podcast, favorite moments from the show, congratulatory poems, or just whatevers on your mind. I’m working my hardest (seriously I’ve had no free time this week)to make the episode something really special, and this segment would make it something even better.
Send in your clips to ryan@evillairproductions.com. Get them in by Thursday night and I’ll try my best to get them into the episode!
*Thanks for all the calls everyone! They turned out great!*
We’re now taking calls for the 100th episode! Be apart of the show history and give us a ring! We don’t know how long we’ll be able to record so add villainyinc to your skype contacts and give us a call!
Don’t forget that our call in segment is tonight at 5:00PM Mountain Time (I put the other time zones in a previous post). Call in to chat with us about the show, ask us questions, or just talk about whatever’s on your mind. Also don’t worry about not having anything to talk about. That doesn’t stop us from making a show every week…
Americans, Britons, and now Swedes? Our international listeners are on a roll!
This sin against nature comes from listener J. He’s says it’s an amalgamation of Alfred Nobel, The Swedish Chef, Ingrid Bergman, Carl XVI Gustaf, Thor and some casual piracy. Great job!
Hey remember way back when I said I’d take a picture of myself in a hat, but only on the grounds that Ollie sent in a picture too? Neither do I. Anywho here’s Ollie making good on our agreement. I got this a while ago and I’ve been meaning to post this for like a month.
Ollie says he doesn’t look good in a hat. I think he looks fine. HAT PEOPLE OF THE WORLD UNITE!
Come to think of it, I really should have asked Ollie’s permission to post this. Opps.
Last episode we discussed the ultimate amalgamation of Americans to create the ultimate American citizen. Little did we know that our international listeners would be as inspired as M. Ladies and Gentlemen, the ULTIMATE BRITON!
This wonderful creation comes from the mind of Theremin. Here’s the decription straight from the aritist’s mouth.
“Here is my terrible photoshop attempt at capturing the magnificence of the Ultimate Briton. He is Capt. Britain plus Ozzy osbourne plus Ian Mckellen.
Stephen Fry and Mr. Muttonchops can do naught but look on in awe.”
Awesome job Theremin! Any of our other international listeners want to mock up their quintessential citizen?
Also does anyone else think it looks like Stephen Fry is checking out the ultimate Briton’s butt?
