New Episode

We didn’t read off the poll results this week since I had to change one of the answers. We’re waiting till next week’s episode since some people were unhappy with the second answer (aka all of you). However this week we began our new segment “How Will You Survive the Zombie Apocalypse?” Be sure to leave you zombie plans in the comment section below for your chance to have them read next episode. Or email them to ryan@evillairproductions.com or greg@evillairproductions.com.

There’s also a segment in the podcast that I was going to cut out since it sounded too whiny, but I left it in since it segwayed into a great comment from Walrus King. It’s after the song break where I give my experience with the new Nintendo DS game Fossil Fighters. I was going to cut it and write it up as a post, but there you go.

In the episode we discussed the laughably bad summer stinker Batman and Robin. I now present to you every mention of the word “ice,” “freeze,” or “cool” by that lovable ape, Mr. Freeze. And yes, for those of you who haven’t seen the movie, THESE ARE ALL IN THE FINISHED FILM.

Howls moving castle is my favorite because it was the last one I saw. Mononoke was among the first movies I watched but I never got the impact of it since there were 10 people in the room. You should watch Neon Genesis Evangelion. It will mess you up.

Michael Bay is a hack. you keep using the “its a toy” defense but the problems with the movie have no relation to the source material.

Ok. in order to show how much we love Osiris lets gather a big pack of lolcats to send him. Its like internet flowers only more useful.

On gay gambit. The hero you described is here:

I haven’t seen G.I Joe but the trailer at Transformers 2 and wished i had watched that instead because its pretty much a parody of how they make action movies.

  2. Ollie says:

    Hello.

I’d have to say that Howl’s moving castle is my favourite SG film. One of the main reasons is probably the music and the beautiful shots of the castle with the mountains and meadows in the backgrounds. I also love Kiki’s Delivery service, and that was also the first one I saw. I really, really hated Spirited Away though. I didn’t care for any of the characters, and it all felt way too claustrophobic. I’ve also seen Princess Mononoke and Laputa: Castle in the Sky, which I loved. I wouldn’t mind seeing the latest one, Tales From Earthsea (I think that’s the latest, at least), as I read the books when I was younger and really hated them. Hope SG’ve made it decent.

On the topic of Osiris, I think that you should give out the number, and -make- him care…

  3. Harry says:

    Heya,

Don’t have much time to leave a comment, but give us the rest of his number, ill make some time to do some online questionaires with his number. His phone won’t stop ringing when im done…

  4. Joshua J Steinberg says:

No No No. This is what we are going to do. We are going to show him how much we like him. You catch more flies with honey than… something… flies dont like. Anyway the threats have failed and a new strategy need to be deviced.
    How shall we encourage Osiris?

  5. Harry says:

Can we do that as Plan B? Because I would really enjoy doing that…

  6. Joshua J Steinberg says:

well Im pretty sure its illegal to use other peoples phone number like that but if you want to do it go ahead.

  7. Theremin says:

Dr. d has already shown his preference for musical horror, so why don’t we compose some kind of musical appeal to Osiris?

Fans write the lyrics, Dr.D sings it.

  8. Joshua J Steinberg says:

Now Im confused. Are we making him like us or are we still blackmailing him?

  9. Ollie says:

If we could combine the two…

Also, just wondering what M (and anyone else) thinks of Big Bother being discontinued. I don’t watch it myself, and I don’t know anyone who watched the last series, so I’m not really that surprised.

  10. Theremin says:

If we combined the two, it could kind of end up as an almost spousal-abuse-y situation.
Bombarding him with harsh phone calls one day, cooing reassurances on the comments the next…”c’mon Osiris we love you, that’s why we have to hurt you…”

I haven’t been following Big Brother, did Marcus get voted out yet?
    If so, drat.

  11. Joshua J Steinberg says:

I don’t really get why we need a plan. He promised when he left that he would participate in the dealings with the Site. If he wants to be the kind of guy that breaks promises thats entirely up to him. There are other who can do it, sure. But in doing so we are participating in creating a world where a persons word is worthless.
If you cant trust a friends word what do you have left?

  12. Joshua J Steinberg says:

On a completely unrelated note: does anyone know a good image of the “Simpsons Orphans”?

  13. Faded Twilight says:

I just wanted to say the Walrus King that Windows 7 is good, and for people that don’t like Vista, it is an improvement.

One of the benefits of having a dad who works in the tech business is that he gets all the stuff a year earlier and for free, which means I get it as well. I haven’t used Windows 7 myself, but several of the family computers have it. So, if you’re curious about anything specific, just ask and I can give you an answer.

  14. Texastechie says:

My favorite Miyazaki film is without a doubt Princess Mononoke. That was the first feature length anime I watched when I was a kid and it was quite a difference after simply being exposed to what came on Toonami every day at 2 PM. After that it’s a tie between Howl’s Moving Castle, which was based on a book written by one of my favorite authors, and Porco Rosso. I just love the portrayal of the American in that movie :P

It’s too bad Osiris doesn’t play WoW anymore. I could totally gank him into submission >]

I’ve been meaning to download Windows 7… Actually I think I’ll go do that right now… Household Hackers has a video about it on youtube i think.

  15. Texastechie says:

Ugh, actually now that I think about it, My Neighbor Totoro was the first feature length anime I saw when I was a kid. Had to really think back on that one ha ^_^

  16. Joshua J Steinberg says:

My first anime was Gundam Wing episode 25 or something. Turns out that it was a pretty bad series but the base level of anime awesomeness was enough to get heavier stuff.
Dr. D. Have you seen Cowboy bebop? if not stop watching anything youre watching now and go get it. Its probably one of the best series ever made. In all categories.

And Techie. Im currently running the 10 day free trial of WoW. Its actually pretty fun when you apply no knowledge of the game to it.

  17. Texastechie says:

Cowboy Bebop kicks ass so friggin much! My favorite anime of all time. I kinda wish they’d made the rest of the manga into episodes though. I finished watching an anime just yesterday that was almost as good as Cowboy Bebop called Black Lagoon you should check it out too.

Well if you have any complaints now about WoW I’ll happily oblige them. The proper multitude of complaints hasn’t even started til you play the game a little heh… Ugh I wish I were joking :I

Oh and apparently you can’t just download Windows 7 anymore… They are giving it away for free at certain functions in the near future though so thats nice…

  18. Joshua J Steinberg says:

Ive heard good things about black lagoon but when it started I did a Dr. D with it (“A boy wizard? That sounds totally stupid!”)
If you like Mecha shows you should try Gundam Seed. Its the best Mecha series ive seen. MUCH better than Code Geass. The first 2 seasons of bleach is good too. ONLY the first 2 seasons. Stop after that because the shit after that ruins the experience in you memory.

I might be playing it wrong by being a role player at heart but ive actually had some fun with my Technofile Gnome. Im pretty sure narrating my own game like a diary to stand it. Its a trick I learned with Dwarf fortress and its actually pretty fun.

I dont get the deal with OSs. People are talking about vista like its broken or something. Ive been using Vista a while now and Its never crashed once, Ive never had a virus, Its start just as fast as xp and its stolen a large portion of whats good about OSX. Those are my standards for a OS. Enlighten me on this.

  19. Texastechie says:

Oh yeah I almost did that but then I was like Wait did he just say something about the Russian mafia?? I am intrigued by this… And I’m sooo glad I kept watching. It’s reallyreally good I promise. I’m not even sure how to move on to another anime cuz they seem so bad by comparison… I was planning on watching Gurren Lagann next but the animation is just so MEH and the characters aren’t deep at all and the the writing is cheesey… But they can’t all be as good as Cowboy Bebop unfortunately.

I think I’d like Mech Anime more if they weren’t a dime a dozen ya know? It’s like a couple days ago I was like, Oh hey, I keep hearing HP Lovecraft references, maybe I’ll read some o dat! But I have no idea where to start >.< And its usually a bad sign if an anime has more than 50 episodes. Cuz you know it's chock full of filler and flashbacks. And ya got people just sittin there starin at each other for 3 episodes saying Mmph! and shifting their weight slightly.

It might've been the fact that I play on a Normal server but the RP thing wore off for me after I got out of the starting area.

Well I hate Vista cuz of the whole "This program is trying to fucking install like you just told it to. Do you wish to proceed?" thing. Even if it worked on viruses like it was meant to, I'd still click Yes or whatever just out of habit. AND you can't turn that off.
