It took seven takes to get Still Alive right.

If you listened to last week’s episode, you’ll know that the song break was an unholy abomination of ear torture. Although it’s meant to sound purposely bad, just know that it took about seven takes to get the song right. It turns out it’s really hard to make a 3 minutes song continually funny, and it’s even harder to sing in that voice over and over. By the end of it my voice was pretty horse.

You can download the song here: Still Alive

And thanks to everyone who enjoyed it. Any other songs you’d like to hear? I do a mean Eye of the Tiger.

    -Numa Numa?
-Some kind of prog rock ballad.
    -Anything by queen.

  2. Faded Twilight says:

    *cough* *cough* [music snob]
Theremin, the song isn’t called Numa Numa, just fyi. The acutal name of the song is “Dragostea Din Tei.”

I’d like to hear some Britney Spears songs, I think that would be pretty funny. Or, Eye of the Tiger. ;)
Or, Daft Punk, it’d be funny hearing those in that amazingly dramatic voice.

I want to hear some songs from the all-in-one-asian. A good one would be Bohemian Like You by The Dandy Warhols.

”Cause I rike you, yeah I rike you, and I’m feering so bohemian rike you’

  4. Theremin says:

I know, Twilight, I just couldn’t spell,remember/pronounce the name of that wacky eastern european pop song.

Sorry if I offended your delicate sensibilities:)

  5. Faded Twilight says:

My dear Theremin, I am glad that you know.

But have you heard of a thing called google? I didn’t know how to spell it either, about 2 seconds on google told me the answer. =P

  6. Walrus King says:

i second ollie’s Dandy Warhols request. or perhaps Bicycle Race by Queen.

  7. Theremin says:

My dear Twilight=P, I am by nature an easily distracted person, and lost an hour and a half of my life to lolcats yesterday. Now, where in my busy timetable am I going to find time for googling?
    I mean hmph, really :)

  8. Joshua J Steinberg says:

Time Theremin would have spent on googling real name = 30 sec
Time Spent by J Googling what that song is since he dont know the real name either = 30 sec
Total time spent = 1 min

Time spent by all parties if its just called numa numa = none.

  9. Theremin says:

huh. I was sure the last one was going to be ‘priceless’.

  10. Joshua J Steinberg says:

Sorry I ran out of memes with the lolcat discussion.

  11. Theremin says:

S’okay, Josh, let us celebrate wish lashings of ginger beer.

  12. Texastechie says:

    In America?

That voice might make an epic rendition of When You’re Evil by Voltaire… Got a nice evil scientist sort of ring to it… I’m not sure if anything will outdo Still Alive though that song is just so epic haha

  13. Joshua J Steinberg says:

Hm… This is Halloween would be fun since you already sound like one of the characters.

  14. Joshua J Steinberg says:

Hm… “This is Halloween” would be fun since you already sound like one of the characters.

Shouldn’t be a big surprise what I’ll request:

    “Zombies on your lawn”

    Or even better:

“Uraniwa ni zombies ga” (the japanese version of the PvZ song)

  16. Dr. Disaster says:

I’ll try the japanese version as a personal challenge. Just don’t expect it for months.
