Pokemon SoulSilver Makes Me Feel All Tingly Inside.

Remember way back, when Pokemon was still new and Game Freak was still trying to figure out where the franchise could go. Then they freaking hit the ball out of the park by having a game that was not only fun as the original, but added all the new features that would define the franchise to this day.

It’s the year 2000 again.

SoulSilver takes everything that was great about Diamond and Pearl on the DS and integrates it perfectly with the original Gold and Silver versions. I’m not very far into the game, but I’m loving it so far. If you never got to play Gold and Silver back in the day PICK THIS GAME UP.

    It comes out on the 26th over here, so I’ll probably get it then. I don’t know why, but everyone I know is getting SoulSilver, even though HeartGold has more (and better) exclusives, and you can get both Lugia and Ho-Oh in both games. But it definitely looks good. Have you been using the new PokeWalker gimmic? That’s really the only problem I have with the game.

    I have only played the original game from start to finish. I bought a game boy for the expressed purpose to play that game.
    I picked the blue turtle because he was on the box. I named him Donatello after my real pet turtle.

    Heres a weird thing I noticed with the first game. Whenever I would play it and then turn the game off I would still hear the music. Not stuck in my head but literally hear the music. The first couple of time I had to go check if I really turned the game boy of.
    Is this a normal phenomenon or was it just me? No game has ever done that before.

    Although the music is/was insanely catchy, I never actually heard it afterwards. Sorry J., you’re just a mental person =/
    Dr. D., do you use the Pokewalker, by the way? It looks gimmic-y, but I reckon I might use it if I can conceal it well. People my age don’t generally like to be seen with a pokeball on our belt.

    I use the hell out of the pokewalker. You can just slip it in your pocket and go to class. It’s a great way to level up, get items, and catch pokemon.

    I even took my pokewalker to the gym yesterday and ran on the treadmill. My Pinco didn’t know what hit it.

    Could you explain the point of the pokewalker? Is it important to gameplay because that will mess up my plans on playing it on an emulator.

    @Ollie
    I have played games before and after that for much longer periods of time. This only occurs with this specific game on the original gameboy (I have played it on emulator and it didn’t work).

    The Pokewalker is essential. After you trounce Team Rocket the Pokewalker begins emitting rays of gold and silver light. Lugia bursts forth out of the device, wings spread and physic energy radiating from its magnificent form.

    Suddenly your team of Pokemon burst out of your DS. An epic fight ensues on the outer edge of the planes of existence as you try and ensnare the colossal beast. Flamethrowers, Razor Leaves, and AeroBlasts collide in an epic battle to the death.
