Good App Alert: Podcaster

Hello comrades. While I’m waiting to finish proofing the audio for today’s episode I thought I’d let you all know about a great app I got for listening to podcasts.
One of my biggest problems listening to podcasts on my iPhone is you can’t just download new episodes onto the device itself. You have to download them to your iTunes, then sync them to your player. Not a big problem, but kinda a pain if you just want to leave for work with new episodes.
Well Podcaster needs no desktop syncing! You can schedule the app to look for episodes at a certain time, stream them live from the server, and get notifications when new episodes are available. This is how I digest all my podcasts now.
I got this app recommended to me on the great podcast Appslappy. Here’s the link if you want to give it a try. It’s on sale today!

…I download podcasts to my iPod all the time. Not sure what your problem is.
Yes through iTunes on the iPhone. However iTunes caches podcast feeds so it takes a while for them to update. Also you cant just refresh your feeds automatically. Podcaster does that for you.
I see definite value in this app. Probably not something I’d use, personally, but it’s definitely a clever idea.
Some of you might also be interested in another utility app I found useful – BargainBin. It keeps track of price mutations in the Appstore, and lets you keep a wishlist of apps that you want, set a price for them, and have BargainBin send you a Push message once that app hits the price you want.
Whats a app?
After trying BargainBin out I can also say it’s a great app. I’m never paying full price for an app again.
