Double Huzzah! Really Ugly Podcast Player Added

Your brain should be a cavalcade of color.

The lovefest for you guys will not end. Today we were able to add a very ugly podcast player to the right sidebar.  All the episodes are there, and all you have to do is select the episode you want to listen to and it starts playing.

I’d rather have a different podcast player (mostly because this one’s called Pickle Player. ugh…). Anyone know of any better podcast players for websites?

Want the site to look better? Bug Osiris.

In the last episode I said that if the website didn’t at least look a tiny bit better that I would give out Osiris’s email for you all to bug him. Well as you can see nothing changed design wise so I’m going to give you all the keys to a kingdom of pestering.

You can all email Osiris at chase@evillairproductions.com.

However I’ve found that honey works far better than vinegar with Osiris. Be sure to tell him that all his episodes are your favorites and the day he left was the day you contemplated suicide. And don’t mention his height, it’s a tender spot.

Not to mention we still have our cellphone backup plan…

Need a new Wii game? Can’t go wrong with Klonoa.

When I’m not editing the podcast or swimming in my Olympic size swimming pool filled with money, I’m usually playing a video game or two. Seeing as this site desperately needs some new segments, I thought I could give recommendations on games I’ve enjoyed. These won’t be reviews since I’ve never fancied myself as a critic. If I enjoyed it I’ll recommended it, if I hated I’ll tell you to be wary. These will probably mostly be Wii games since as we all know, 70% of Wii games is a sea of crap.

Klonoa is remake of a PlayStation game originally released in 1997. I never played any of these games so I picked up this one not really expecting  much. What I found was a fun sidescroller with a interesting twist. You see the levels don’t move on a traditional 2D plane. The paths wrap around buildings, go further into the countryside, and branch out into multiple paths making exploration pretty fun. You can also interact with objects outside your path, making for some interesting puzzles.

The gameplay was something I really enjoyed since the jump button is mapped to the A button, and attack is mapped B. This makes jumping and shooting using the Wiimote and Nunchuk setup simple to use because you’re able to hit both buttons easily. It’s a control system that needs to be used in more platformers.

The visuals were great too. They were nice and colorful, and really added to the worlds you explore.

A lot of people have criticized Klonoa as being too easy and I can definitely see their point. However I’d compare it to playing any of the Kirby games. They’re all very easy games, but it still doesn’t take away from how fun the gameplay is. Also Klonoa features some jumps that almost had me throwing my controller in rage at the nearest living thing.

Currently the game is priced at 30 bucks and I think that’s pretty reasonable. If you’ve got nothing to play I’d highly recommend Klonoa, especially if you’ve never played the original.

Huzzah! User Accounts Activated

fireworks

This should be happening in your brain right now.

Seeing as user accounts is currently leading in the poll, I decided to use my omnipotent admin powers to add user accounts to the site. Now whenever you guys want to leave comments, you can just stay logged in and not have to put your name and email in every time. We didn’t do anything with your email addresses by the way. We swear we didn’t sell them to spamming companies in order to make ends meet so we wouldn’t have to keep selling our organs on eBay to support the website. Stop looking at us like that!

Also just a reminder that you have to be logged in to leave comments. If you try commenting without an account it won’t work.

Let Your Voice Be Heard! VOTE MONKEYS!

Here’s the poll, now do your part! Tell us what you want so we can get to work! Also feel free to tell us what other features you wanted added in the comments section.

The “Tell Us What You Freaking Want” Episode

Nanu Nanu everyone.

This week’s episode ran a bit long, but it’s chock full of goodies. First and foremost is our discussion of what can be added to the website. Be sure to vote on the poll to tell us which feature you wanted added to the site first. We’ll be adding them all, but the poll will help us figure out which ones people want most. AND TELL US WHAT YOU FREAKING WANT! What we came up with were only suggestions. If there’s a feature you guys can’t live without please tell us! You can listen to the episode on the player below.

As stipulated in this episode we will not be accepting emails this week, only comments that are on this post will be read on next episodes podcast. This is a temporary measure to get people using the website, and marshal law will be lifted once we are satisfied with the results.

Now it wouldn’t be a update without a youtube video. Last week I discussed with Walrus King how the Transformers cartoon hasn’t aged as gracefully as other cartoons, yet the Decipticon dialogue was still top notch. This is illustrated here in a great scene between Megaton and Starscream, with the only cringe worthy line being “You couldn’t lead androids to a picnic!” Sigh…

Get it! It sounds like ANTS! LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLZZZZ!!!

Episode 47: Give Me Your Fealty Fixed!

Every once and a while strange little elves invade the servers and we have to chase them out with a shotgun. However sometimes we don’t chase them out fast enough and they screw up the feed or the episode listings. We’re pretty sure that’s what happened to episode 47.

If you tried listening to it before all you got was a shortened version of the Halloween Special. Using advanced NASA science we were able to restore the original episode. You can listen to it below.

The times, they are a changing.

Hey everyone. As you can see the website is undergoing a lot of changes. We’re converting the site into a blog system making updating and maintenance alot easier. This will also allow are listeners to become more involved in the show by letting you guys to leave comments and contribute.

We’re opening to suggestions so be sure to drop us line if you have any ideas on how to make the site better. We’re in beta after all, and beta translated from Latin means “crap that needs to be fixed.”

I’m not crazy about the design right now, it’ll probably be changing really soon. The layout needs work too. Work work work. Don’t worry, things will definitely improve once we get Osiris back on the CSS.

Oh and don’t forget to listen to our latest episode. You can listen to it on the player below.

This week features a lag free Walrus King and conversations about Zombies, Batman, and the cult hit Sam and Max. Speaking of Sam and Max, here’s one of the more memorable songs from the first season. Enjoy.
