Probably no episode this monday, but episode recording and games next Saturday.

So Sir Michael didn’t feel the need to tell me this until the last minute, but he’s in Texas. I swear the guy hops across the globe every week without telling everyone.

Since I had scheduled him to record for the weekend and he’s not home, there’s probably not going to be an episode this Monday. However, we’re all set to go for Saturday the 22nd. Seeing as Michael and I will be on to record, we’ll also be on to play games.

We’ll be on and rearing to play next Saturday. Although Sir Michael will probably leave for Cambodia for a week without telling anyone. (Don’t put it past him.)

Also it’s official…I’m hooked.

Nintendo’s Giving Away Free Mews!

Get yours today!

The year is 1998. Everyone at my school is fevorishly trying to catch them all. The number to catch is 150, no more, no less.

Then one of my friends declares heresy by claiming there is a 151st Pokemon. We threw him in prison for is blasphemous beliefs. Then through illegal game modification we find out the fool was right! Hidden in the game’s coding was a legendary Pokemon that at the time even Nintendo was claiming didn’t exist. However the true mark of a Pokemon master was if you could get your Mew legally. It didn’t help that Nintendo has always been stingy about giving away their treasured legendarys.

Well now all you need is an internet connection and you too can get a free Mew! Just use the Mystery Gift option with Nintendo WFC and you’ll be able to snag the small Psychic that was coveted by so many trainers back in the day. This is only going on until Oct 30th (in America) so get one today!

INCEPTIONAUTS

I’ve said this before on the podcast, but I’m a huge Tim Schafer fan. I think he’s a visionary if video game storytelling and he’s imaginative as all get out. I also think Christopher Nolan is one of this generations most visionary filmmakers. So what happens when you stick the two together? GENIUS!

Funny how great minds think alike. By the way if you’ve never played Psychonauts you’re missing out. It’s probably the best game you’ve never played. Pick it up on Steam or Xbox Live if you get a chance.

Dr. D and Miss Chevious’s Recording Sessions.

Here’s the video podcast I promised you all. Miss Chevious is taking a class at the U of U where she gets to make a video game for Xbox Live. I’m pretty sure this could be the greatest class ever. It would be second only to “How to eat ice cream class.”

I’ll be providing the voice for the French Knight Sir Henry De Chatillon in the finished game. I also tried out for Merlin and Miss Chevious tried out for Rapunzel. Watch the video to see how that went.

I’ll do another video podcast in April. I would have done one this month but I got busy editing this one instead. Enjoy!

Villainy INC Needs Your Help! Stumble Our Website and Podcasts!

Stumbleupon

I don’t want to unintentionally scare anyone but Villainy INC’s future might not look so hot. Every year the podcast and website loss money as I pay hosting, equipment, and miscellaneous fees. I’ve never minded this because I love making the podcast. However this year I’m graduating college and I’ll have to worry about jobs and money. I’ve always hoped our ad boxes would help the site break even, but as you can see from the ads we usually get it’s people only bidding a cent (or less).

However if we could get traffic up on the site, the value of the ad boxes would go up and the site would break even. If we could get the price of just one ad box up to 30 cents, it would cover hosting fees and other costs for the entire year.

The best way I’ve found to do this stumbleupon.com. In case you didn’t know, Stumbleupon is a website where you randomly visit sites that match your interests. It’s great (I use it often) and Villainy INC is listed in their directory. However because we don’t have any reviews or thumbs up yet we don’t get stumbled. That’s where you all come in.

PLEASE WRITE OUR WEBSITE A REVIEW AND GIVE US A THUMBS UP ON STUMBLEUPON. All you have to do is click the thumbs up button in your browser when you visit our site. It’s that easy. Also it wouldn’t even need to be a long review. You could just type the word “great” or “derp” and it would help us! If you’ve enjoyed the work we’ve put into making this show week after week, then please help us out by giving us a thumbs up in Stumbleupon. Here’s the link to our Stumbleupon page: http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/www.villainyinc.com/

If there was ever I time we need your guy’s help it’s now. I’m doing behind the scenes stuff to help raise traffic, but we still need your help. I’d also like to add that if the total price of our add boxes reached 60 cents, we could have another video game giveway and still have enough left over to do something else for you guys. Just throwing that out there.

Pokemon SoulSilver Makes Me Feel All Tingly Inside.

Remember way back, when Pokemon was still new and Game Freak was still trying to figure out where the franchise could go. Then they freaking hit the ball out of the park by having a game that was not only fun as the original, but added all the new features that would define the franchise to this day.

It’s the year 2000 again.

SoulSilver takes everything that was great about Diamond and Pearl on the DS and integrates it perfectly with the original Gold and Silver versions. I’m not very far into the game, but I’m loving it so far. If you never got to play Gold and Silver back in the day PICK THIS GAME UP.

Episode XCIV: Video Games Pre-Recorded IV: Judgement Day

New EpisodeWhat do you get when Villainy INC becomes too lazy to come up with things to talk about? Another installment of Video Games Pre-Recorded that’s what! I’m not too hot on this episode because I noticed while editing it that we didn’t really play a lot of video game music. Kinda defeats the purpose. Oh well. Tune in anyway to hear music from games like Punch Out, Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hearts, and Mega Man!

[podcast]http://www.evillairproductions.com/podcast/ep94.mp3[/podcast]

And huge apologies to Ollie. I had the mp3 for “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” but for some reason it didn’t make it into the episode playlist. No idea how that happened. Once again I suspect elves. We’ll play it on the show some other time.

We didn’t really mention any videos in the episode so I’ll leave you all with this. Rock on.

Why Earthbound will probably never be re-released on the VC.

After beating Earthbound for the first time (awesome game by the way), I was curious what song tracks where in copyright violation. I caught an homage here and there (I was quite proud of myself for catching the Monty Python sample) but I never thought anything sounded too close to other songs. That is until I saw this video.

This clip is a bit too long (it really could have been only 5 minutes) but it’s pretty interesting if you want to hear where all the music came from.

Yeah some of those are pretty damn close to real songs…

Next Episode will be another Video Games Pre-Recorded

I’m exhausted making the show (we’ve gone about 3 months without missing a week) so next episode is going to be another installment of Video Games Pre-Recorded. For those of you who don’t know, these are the episodes where WK and I DJ an episode featuring our favorite video game music.

This time around I thought I’d ask our listeners if there’s any of their favorites they’d like to hear. Tell us your favorites in the comments section and we’ll try and play them on the show.

We’re also going to be taking Thanksgiving off. Believe it or not we’re not robots. Or are we…DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUN

If you’d still like to donate you can do so here. I guess we can email Jack Thompson and tell him to stop worrying about gamers being homicidal maniacs set to go off at any moment. We pretty much proved that wrong. WOOT!
