Game Recomendation: Sonic Rush

For all the complaining we Sonic fans do about how terrible the new Sonic games are, it’s easy to forget that Sonic Team did make an excellent Sonic game in 2005. Sonic Rush featured the traditional elements that we’d all been missing. Speed, side scrolling, and platforming. A.k.a ALL THE ELEMENTS THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE LEFT!

The game is oodles of fun. It even improved on some the concepts of earlier Sonic games. In earlier Sonic games you’d get up to full speed, but usually run into a trap or an enemy shortly after, robbing you of all your rings and joy. Sonic Rush however featured level sections that had you running at top speed through loops, over cliffs, even upside down on the roof. These section let you sit back and enjoy the fun of just zooming around the area. There’s also a power meter that allows Sonic to go even faster, sending enemies flying when you slam into them.

Sonic Rush also rocked by having only 2 playable characters. They controlled basically the same and both handled perfectly. The story was thankfully less convoluted than previous titles. Dr. Eggman accidentally creates a rift in time and space and an alternate Eggman starts causing trouble. That’s it. Thank God.

If you find it on the shelf for 15 bucks pick it up. It’s a fantastic game and has great replay value.

Support Faded Twilight in the 2009 Extra Life Charity! Make a difference!

We like to have fun here at Villainy INC. In fact, the websites and podcast were founded with fun in mind.

However some things in life aren’t fun. Cancer is not fun. Children with cancer is just tragic. Every year thousands of children die from an illness they didn’t choose. Faded Twilight is helping to give them a chance.

Faded Twilight is taking part in the 24 hour Extra Life gaming marathon, a charity that helps to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Every hour she plays will count towards money donated for cancer research. The only problem is that the event is on October 17th and she still hasn’t raised any money yet. That’s where we come in.

Villainy INC is going to be sponsoring Faded Twilight in this event, but she still needs more help. For only a dollar an hour, you can sponsor Faded Twilight in this event and help save the lives of kids in need. You can visit her donation page at https://waystogive.texaschildrens.org/netcommunity/JordanBilak. Every little bit helps. You can donate by clicking the big red button on the right hand side of the page.

Not only is this going towards a good cause, it’s going towards helping gamers in general. Activist groups like to label gamers as trained murder machines, set to go off on school shootings at any moment. Lets prove them wrong. Lets show those ignorant ambulance chasing attorneys that we do care, and that we can make a difference. Lets show them that gamers are people with hearts and souls.

You can find out more about Extra Life by going to http://extralife.sarcasticgamer.com/ It’s a great charity and we wish Faded Twilight the best of luck this October!
